Somethings to consider:
1) A custom kti could come out cheaper 2) A custom kit may be cheaper but it will probably be a pain in the ass to find all the parts. 3) With a custom kit I would imagine you would need to do all the labor yourself. 4) It's more convinient to buy the kit w/ instructions, etc... 5) A premade kit (HRC, Star) will help you make sure you don't overboost and with a custom you need to know what you're doing with everypart.
I say just look for a good deal on a premade kit:
