Well my setup consists of a 1st gen side mount IC, and i had 2" mandrel bent exaust piping made to fit it in. Basically i cut out the 90 degree section out of the Hahn outlet pipe, where the BOV is connected, then ran a pipe off of each cut end to the inlet and outlet of the IC. I used a 2" I.D. radiator hose, cut into 4" long couplers, and worm gear clamps to hold it toghether, and this setup is working great for me. If you can find a place to bend you some pipe, then do that, or you can piece it together from places like Jcwhitney or Roadraceengineering.com. As for your boost spikes, check out the vacum hose that is on the turbo itself. You cant miss it. See if there is a leak in the hose, or if its cracked or whatever. Even with an upgraded exaust, you still shouldn't be geeting any more boost. Once the wastgate spring sees 5 psi, it opens up to bleed off exaust form the exaust turbin wheel, keeping the boost at 5, and no hiher. So something is making your wastegate not open right..When i had my kit at stage 1, no IC, i always hit a perfect 5 psi, all the time, no spikes, no less. Def give HRC a call. I would't put any boost controller or different wastgate spring on until you get this figured out. Check that vacum hose!
