#25053, "What to use for exhaust gasket?"

I have a waste gate from an Audi, but I have no gaskets for it. I called the dealer to get the gaskets but they say there are none. Guess I will have to make my own. I was just wondering what to use. Was going to use stainless steal, but I can't cut it. Then I thought about useing copper. Copper is ez to cut and supposed to be good up to almost 2000 degrees. What do you guys think?

If you could get both surfaces machined flat, then you wouldn't need a gasket (thats preferable). A thin pressed stainless steel gasket is the next best choice (based on my reading). Cut a copper one at last resort.
