25053, What to use for exhaust gasket? Posted by jcurcillo, Jun-21-02 05:30 AM I have a waste gate from an Audi, but I have no gaskets for it. I called the dealer to get the gaskets but they say there are none. Guess I will have to make my own. I was just wondering what to use. Was going to use stainless steal, but I can't cut it. Then I thought about useing copper. Copper is ez to cut and supposed to be good up to almost 2000 degrees. What do you guys think? | |

25054, RE: What to use for exhaust gasket? Posted by Corbin, Jun-21-02 07:00 AM If you could get both surfaces machined flat, then you wouldn't need a gasket (thats preferable). A thin pressed stainless steel gasket is the next best choice (based on my reading). Cut a copper one at last resort. | |
