Well, my tranny is shot. Some of you already know... bummer. I just installed a Quaife and a new clutch masters stage 4 clutch, flushed and filled with new mopar nv-t350 tranny fluid, and 700 miles later... its gone. Here's what i figure... The previous owner installed a senslessforce dual friction clutch right before her sold me the car, i believe he used the wrong tranny fluid when he filled it back up, so I drove on it for 1.5 years, pulled the tranny, installed the new stuff, filled with the RIGHT fluid, and it didnt like it and decided to make me pay, once again, i tell you this car has an attitude. The mechanic said the 4th gear roller bearing is destroyed, welded to the input shaft. He said the thinks the fluid broke down, lack of lubrication siezed the bearing.all the gears on the input shaft are free spinning, the syncros are locked in place.. the shift fork moves the syncro ring and locks the gear to the shaft. thats why the car was pulling forward, because it was in gear (dino gave me that info).
Well, I need to fix this thing so hopefully I can get to the shootout this year. I need a tranny with a cracked bellhousing with the parts in good shape, that has used the correct fluid in it, haha... or smoething to that sort, main thing is cheap cause I have been out of work for a few months now... My case is fine so I wouldnt need a good case, just need whats inside basically. I know I can find one on car-part.com, but i would rather see if there are any 2gnt'ers willing to lend a hand first. Plus we all know more about cars than people at a junk yard, haha.
I will be on my way to Florida tomorrow, so hopefully I will be able to check the list and email at a mall or somewhere.
TIA
