I can only speak from experience for both the HRC FCD and the VC-1 that I tried.
First off, the HRC voltage clamp was easy to hook up, but the voltages it clamped at seemed to vary for me. Most of the time, it clamped above 4.1x or above, but Bill Hahn assured me that this voltage level was above the 100% duty cycle rate of the fuel injectors. The VC-1 I bought from someone didn't even work, so I can not comment on that piece. (I can only sarcastically thank the person who sold it to me.)
Here's still my issue with the HRC clamp though, or any other voltage clamp that varies at its set level: If it varies at its clamping level, it puts your entire engine at risk. Especially for a stage 1-2 setup with stock injectors, where the margin of error is minimal.
I like the idea of a check valve as the one at issue here. Not only does it eliminate the static nature of the FCD, but it's just nice to have one less thing interfering with your MAP sensor voltage. It's important for that reading to be as accurate as possible. Also, let me just say that the piece appears to be top notch and a great deal better in quality than any check valve that I've ever seen. As far as check valves go, this one is definitely as deluxe as it gets for our application. Furthermore, many of us can attest to what may or may not be the maximum fuel output referenced by MAP voltage whether it be 4.2x or 4.79, but in either case, allowing your MAP sensor to send a atmospheric reading for your engine at maximum effort, except for boost, should allow for the max fuel injector output that we're looking for no matter what the voltage reading will be.
