This seems a bit weird to ask, but I was wondering which end is in and which is out? Also which of the two prongs on the pump is the positive and which is the negative?
Neither are labeled on the fuel pump itself and my HRC instructions are for an in tank fuel pump so no help. Both of the prongs look the same as well.

I didn't use one. There is a sock on the end of the stock pump that prevents it from picking up large debris.
if you absolutely have to have a filter, screw a brass barb into the pump, and use an inline filter from AutoZone or something. Use fuel injection hose and clamps.

I just cant seem to get the fitting off between the metal fuel line and the stock fuel filter on the fuel sending line. I would like to just take out the fuel filter and stock fpr and put the fuel pump where the fuel filter sat.
Can I just cut the metal fuel line with a hacksaw?
