Hi all,
I'm the proud owner of a newly purchased '96 Eagle Talon, (5-spd base model). As finances permit, I will probably be looking to have an HRC Stage I installed. Here's my reasoning:
1. I'm going with Stage I because I need something that is as low-maintenance as possible, and I'm guessing that a Stage I will have a lot less stress on an engine than a Stage II. I know absolutely nothing, zilch, zero, nada about working on cars. 2. I'm going with HRC because because, as I understand, it makes superior low-end power compared to the Star setup. A lot of my driving will be on city streets, not exactly giving much opportunity for seeing redline. I may be looking to do a little bit of autocross, but no serious racing. Also, the fact that HRC just lowered their prices doesn't hurt! I guess one negative with the HRC set-up is that if I ever decide to upgrade to a Stage II, I think it's supposed to involve irreversible modification to the car. I was hoping down the road to be able to pull out the turbo kit and sell it separately if I ever decide to sell the car, which I guess won't be an option with HRC.
Do you think I'm making the right choice? Any comments?
Also, can someone recommend a shop near Jersey City, NJ to do the installation?
Thanks,
Gilbert
