#105820, "Evo 8/9 turbo in a NT? anyone tried success or failure?"

i tried looking to see if anyone had posted about this already, but i didn't find what i was looking for. has anyone tried this? i know with the older 4G it's not worth the pain it would take to use one. but on a 420A i think it would be easier as the motors face the same direction. just wondering if anyone has tried this. as i may be upgrading the turbo on my evo and would have a great turbo to give my NT alittle bit of life. more than likely though if i go the turbo route a Hahn turbo kit would probably be my decision.

I've been looking into using an EVO 9 turbo, to make use of the twin scroll feature you'd have to have someone custom make you a manifold. other than that it's not a huge turbo so spacing wouldn't be an issue. it should work great considering it's designed to get great performance from a 2.0l application with fairly quick spooling and it's capable of putting out a LOT of boost for a factory turbo

why would you even post it then.....nothing special about the EVO turbo other than its small. Why not ask if its hard to put a t25 in an eclipse.

cause an evo 8/9 is larger than a T25 and i think it's a valid question. it's definitely alot larger than a evo3 16g. so no reason for you to be negative about my question.

Actually it's basically a "big" 16g with a twin scroll turbine housing.

since when has the 16G ever considered a large framed turbo? I like to think of it as a turbo in training. Its no different than any Hahn base kit. So it has a different turbine housing....big deal its still small. Its as easy to fit as a t25, 16g, 17c, 20g.

I'd like to see this done. It's a great turbo, and I'm sure it's an economical choice.

Curious as to if the OP is who I think it might be...

I think it'd be a cool setup. Guess everyone has gone for a HRC/Star turbo kit or large frame setup And who do you think I might be?

Anything that'll support 380-400whp isn't small in my opinion. The 16g is the backbone of the Mitsubishi performance industry, shit Kurt Brown made 499whp on one. I won't say its large, but it's not on the same page as a T25.
