wassup ya'll, im having doubts about turbocharging my eclipse, my concerns are; 1: compression ratio- stock 420a's have a 9.6:1 compression ratio, im not sure but isnt that too high to turbocharge? 2: Map sensor- what do i do about my map sensor? stock it wont recognize boost so itl throw a code and run like shit what should i do? and im not sure but if im leaving any additional details please someone give me some pointers, id greatly appreciate the feedback and support.
If that doesn't answer your questions, search for the terms missing link and fcd either here or on google.
As for the compression question, there's a ton of guys who have boosted stock blocks without issue (the compression ratio has no real effect on issues normally associated with boosting these cars in stock motor form) There are guys that run 10.5:1 with boost but most do go with lower compression pistons when they build their block
I contributed to the Wiki! EVO IX - just a really expensive boost gauge and a K&N air filter 96 Eclipse RS -awaiting registration and inspection 95 Eclipse GS - parts car Mods/Profile - http://www.2gnt.com/index.php?d=cs82685

Not at all; You just need to keep the boost under 8-10PSI; If you're planning on staying on stock internals.
2: Map sensor- what do i do about my map sensor? stock it wont recognize boost so itl throw a code and run like shit what should i do?
FCD, (It's basically just a voltage clamp that keeps the ECU from seeing boost, or A Missing Link; Same premise, expect it's check valve (I think, so correct me if I'm wrong, fellas.) That plugs in before the map sensor, to do the same thing.

Yeah, mine does too, but only when I hit boost at partial throttle.
