#105183, "sfmu / 440cc injector tuning question"

ok.. right now in my sfmu im running the smaller black spring, and the 2.72 disc and ring. i have 310cc injectors and my idle fuel is around 22psi, but im putting in some 440cc injectors.. should i change anything in the sfmu? i know i need to turn the fuel pressure down to about 10 to 15psi of fuel.

any thoughts?

thanx
James

Someone (Murix!) please answer this...

I have the big disk and big silver spring, and my FP is close but no cigar... haven't blown up yet, but I'm far from tuned.

I run 20psi idle FP on my Ford 440's which is about the minimum for them. Jamesman has RC? 440's and I believe he runs about 18psi FP at idle.

the big disk as in the 3" disk?

why is the black smaller spring used? only for 310cc?

thanx

I have 440's i used the smallest disk on the sfmu and put the pressure at 11-12 and was still rich, so I had to help out with the SAFC, I got the "low" settings at -10. and the car runs fine with those settings.

well i was breaking in my engine so the max boost I saw was 4-5 psi. don't remember the fuel pressure, but do know it was runing rich. (my tranny broke so i have not been able to go up to 15 psi yet)
you will need to use the small disk, of that I'm almost 100% positive. and then fine tune for idle and for WOT with the safc.

Run the dark spring that you have in there......it allows you to run lower idle fuel pressures.
