well i spent all last night trying to re-upholster the door inserts from the GS+ door panels i got a week ago. how the hell do the people at the factory, and the peeps who've done it here do it?! emoji there was ALWAYS a creese (sp?) wrinkle or bend somewhere on the vynil.
i spent like 50 bucks in glue staples and stapler from JOANNE'S Crafts, and hell it was a waste, im going to take them to an upholstery, and ill be damned if they DONT look like the factory ones, i dont care about the price, but aslong as its reasonable since im providing the material.
its personal now...those inserts have made me mad emoji

Heat up the vinyl and it will stretch, I do this for a living, if you have to stiff of vinyl that can help, if not sometimes there will have to be a seam put into it. Although our's shouldn't. Around the outside/back cut slits about every inch, this will help it pull the direction you need rather than bunching up and wrinkling on you around the sides. And always work your way from the middle of one edge and side to side dont try to pull it all at once.

If you do not have a heat gun, a hair dryer works wonders emoji

get some industrial grade upholstry contact cement..not glue. and also yes..a heat gun. you should not need staples if you properly glue it down either. youll also need to learn to make releif incisions around the edges so everything streaches tightly and evenly. it might be better for you to just take them in if you dunno what your doin emoji

would any of you peeps, do if for me if i send it to you? i guess it would be easier for me to just find a local place. one of my distant uncles owns an upholstery/ graphics shop, called El Sol Industries, Inc. they do alot od work for One Industries, which has something to do with off roading and ATV's i think, since im not into that. but i just asked my cousin if his dad could do it and he said yes, ill get prices from places including my uncle, so let me know what u guys would charge me to get it profesionaly done.

P.S. I assume that u guys that have done this alot and do it for living leave it factory looking right? no seems/creeses/ wrinkles?

Here's some door inserts you could get from top shop. Fiberglass or carbonfiber. Just as an alternative if the upholstery is too much.
