#89494, "how can i bond urethane?"

i got a front urethane body kit that was cut into a few parts. what can i use to re bond urethane? it has to be strong and hold it together. ive used fiberglass before but it isnt flexible and id rather not use that. ive seen plastic looking welding sticks. do they work? what about urethane that is used to mold kits on to cars and stuff?

ever try duraglass? I would give that a try! I have never used it on urethane, but would think it would hold up pretty good!

it dont overlap .fusor is used in every shop that does plastic repair . not many shops do plastic repair tho since the part is usually cheaper than the repair . you also have to plastic weld when using fusor . firstget some little strips of sheet metal .drill 2 holes in them . line up the 2 pieces that need to be put together . drill 2holes in part ,1 on each side . put the rivet through the part then through the sheet metal . this when the parts dont overlap . tape the front . weld the back . take tape off front . grind the rivets down and apply your fusor to fill the rest . sand and your done . also for small holes in urethane you dont have to plastic weld or use rivets . you just tape the front of the hole , lay down fusor then put a layer of fiberglass cloth and roll it into the fusor . then fuse the front and your done . hope this helps .

I used the 3M uretahne glue. The ones that hold your windows in place. Strong sticky stuff, this was for the under side of my rear bmper through the inside.

The outside is unoticeable un less your 1 inch away. You can see the paint crack. Im in no hurry to fix that.
