#85426, "what can i use....?"


          

the paint shop got some overspray on my tanabe exhaust and i was wondering what i could use to get it off without taking the shine off of my exhaust cuz it looks oh so pretty when its clean emoji any ideas what i can use?

Make them remove it. or use a handheld grinder. thats what I would do.

Mine was the same way, all I did was get some spray carb cleaner and a fresh rag and rubbed till it went away and it didn't scratch it and just used some polish afterwards to shine it up!

just use some paint thinner, just dont leave it on for too long


i might even just scrub like a mofo with mag aluminum polish

EDIT: just realized use a clay bar, thats how i got the overspray off my wheels

You trust the most important part of your whole project( Paint ) in the hands of a shop that cant tape-off an exhaust right. If it was a
credible shop then you shouldnt even have to worry about there mistakes, they should remove it for you. I hope the rest is coming along nicely for your sake..

That deffintley sounds like you got a quality macco job on your car because thats just fucking pathetic. Have them fix it or replace it that shit would piss me off. Now I'm gonna go before I probably say something very insulting.

actually, the paint shop did a super fantastic job, got 2 runs, but very small and they are wetsanding and buffing the whole car for saturday. they said they would remove the paint from the exhaust saturday but my first show is thursday and i wanted to get rid of it before then cuz i dont have time to get back to the shop before thursday. i will try some soft steel wool. and maaco my balls, lol, its amazing. pics will be up thursday after the show, i promise!

Do not use steel Wool of any Kind, It will scratch the surface of your shiny Exhaust tip. Paint thinner is your best bet, then use Eagle one Never dull to polish it up.

i took like 20 pics yesterday at the first show and the color of the car just wasnt right on the pictures. im going to get a new digital camera tomorrow and post some up on sunday FOR SURE this time cuz my camera now sucks. btw, i got placed 2nd for overall WILD import and keep in mind, i have no interior in my car at all except for 3 gauges and a dashboard and some tenzo seats emoji a red tt supra wih targa took best of show over me.
