There is a shift knob with 4 buttons on top where you can hook up all kinds of stuff to them including signals lights. I'll try to find it again if your interested. Kind of a bit of dough.

ya but urs is 97 right...im 95.....i don't even wanna pull my friken steering wheel off again tho....I'm lazy. I wanna run a wire or 2 to a switch on the console!
I just wanna know if someone has done anything like this before that s all.....

it really depends on where the problem lies. you need to check the wiring. if the actual problem is like in the wiring or the relays then wiring them to a different switch won't make any difference as your switch wouldn't be the cause of the problem.
for instance, my horn buttons do not work. the horn works - the buttons in the steering wheel are jsut messed up. after making sure this was the problem, i was able to add a button to trigger the horn.
