hey guys. i just put in one've those SPAL deluxe power window kits. or almost finished putting it in. just gotta finish up the wiring an mount the switch. the motors themselves are all in an the doors are back on. install wasn't too bad. just took awhile to find a good way to mount it. after that it made the 2nd door really easy. oh runnig wires is a bitch. the stock one for the speaker is like completely in the way. especially on the part after the rubber sleeve going into the body of the car. there's like a frickin wire harnes in there that you hafta take out from the inside under the dash and go around. took me awhile to figure out how to take out the glove box too...
wiring's really straight foward. or should be but i'm doin something else. i'm mounting my switch in the center console where the ashtray is. i'm tryna make it so the lid still works too so that it snaps closed over the switch. almost got it to work. LOTS of hacking involved though. should look really nice when it's done though. i just like the idea of having the switches hidden under there and sliding open the lid to reveal them... hehe. gonna replace the light in there with a blue LED too so the switches are backlit at nite. (they window icon on them glows green too). should be cool.
oh yea does anyone else's window make a loud popping noise when you first start rolling it down (from being ALL the way up). i was just wondering if the windows are made to sort of lock when they're all the way up. that's what it sounds like anyways. its not hard to move them it just feels/sounds like it's coming out of bein locked all the way up or somehin. they did this from before i put the kit in too so just wondering.

>don't roll the windows down?? I think its just the mechanism >when it starts to move.
lol thanks..
umm the kit from slickcar.com was like $140 i think. switches was another $40. you could probably get your own switches though. it's just a matter of knowing how to wire them. you'll prolly hafta use a couple relays. the motor itself only has 2 wires. hook that up to a 12v source and it turns. reverse the polarity it turns the other way. should be simple enough to wire.

I have that same kit, and it does not make any noise at all...but my buddy with a camaro got that kit too, and his does make that noise?? Wierd. Congrats on the install...Did you do the power locks while you were in there? I love my keyless entry more than my power windows

Another thing I've been interested in doing to my ride. I hate having to reach over to roll down the window, and no power locks sucks as well If anyone has pics and a writeup for this to show mounting points etc...that would be sweet and probably benefit a lot of us here Congrats on the uprgrade.

i had my power locks put in by the alarm guys. i prolly coulda done it myself but i wasn't planning on putting switches for the locks so it was easier to just have them hook it straight to the alarm. i think it's pretty neat having power locks and power windows and no switches on the doors
ya i think a writeup would be a pretty good idea.. i don't got a camera though. it'd be much easier to show mounting points with pics...
