Is there any real use for the reinforcer, i.e. what's the disadvantages to taking it out? Like more damage in an accident or something?

you answered your own question.. just imagine if you got into a front end colision w/o the re-bar.. you will have fun with that situation.. when i was putting on the new bumper, i was debating wether to keep it on, or take it off.. i just left it on b/c i dont want to found out the real reasons as to why it is there. emoji

if you get in a wreck without it, your engine and dash will be in your face and your insurance company wont pay for anything

Oh wow insurance wouldnt cover a thing, the guy said he thinks hell be able to do it with the reenforcer as long at he trims away a little of theinside of the bumper downside he said he might have to take the mesh off the middle grill which would really suck but i guess its kinda worth it so i still will live in a crash and be covered by insurance

how does bumper reinforcer = more traction... 2 + 2 isn't equaling 4 in this equasion

hell yeah, brad... that's what i'm saying. where's cyan on this subject. i'm waiting for him to say "what is a plastic bar gonna do when you crash at 60 mph besides break in half." it'll help at low speeds, but anything higher than like 20mph, which we normally drive at... that thing isn't gonna do a damn thing besides possibly cause more radiator damage by poking through it. imo

btw, i've got no front or rear rebar.

Actually, that bumper helps absorb at least a significant amount of the impact. The key is that it is long and horizontal so it will distribute the impact much better than if you just hit something in one direct spot. For example, if you hit a pole, it would at least somewhat help disperse the energy across the front end, rather than just impact one spot and immediately bend the frame in that one spot. It's there for a reason, but ya, in high speed impacts, it probably would not make too much of a difference (unless it really is engineered well to displace energy).

physics. 2 + 2 does = 4, but why are you adding when the equation is multiplying?

simple equasion: Bumper support on car doesn't equal more traction!!!
And this is adding not multiplying.... its a + sign not X's
