Wondering if this stuff will work ok on the heat shield? I don't want it to flake off (or melt for that matter). Thanks.

it wont, it will look great until you drive the car.. it will start to chip and turn to a brownish orange cuz it will burn up.. i made the mistake of polishing mine and putting clear coat on it... what a pita to fix..

however there is exhaust paint, which will work fine. but regular engine paint wont.. unfortunatly the exhaust paint doesnt have as many available colors as does regular high temp.

naw, just goto your local auto store like pepboys or something and look for EXHAUST paint.. i know for sure they make it in black. get a can of that and you should be set! emoji

yeah you will probably have to use something do do with barbeque pit paint or something.. only comes in a few colors..

yeah i didn the same thing.. high temp clear coat burns.. but if you just polish it it will still look ok.

i tried the black hi-temp (the hightest i could find) on the headers them selves (no heat sheild) and it flaked right off.

i tried a few other colors... same result.

then i tried the alumunium color and it worked fine



mods:
star stage III clutch
full exhause
cai
sparkplugs(needing new ones, any ideas?>
platnum plus window tint
all black interior
altezas

future mods(in no particular order):
engine rebuild
turbo.....
lower it
wheels
seats
exhaust
piant job
turbo wing
hood
body kit
neons all around
projectors
new altezas
new stereo equipment
and more that will be kept secret for now

I don't know what the exhaust paint is rated at but they have 1200 degree that might work.
