Wondering if this stuff will work ok on the heat shield? I don't want it to flake off (or melt for that matter). Thanks.

it wont, it will look great until you drive the car.. it will start to chip and turn to a brownish orange cuz it will burn up.. i made the mistake of polishing mine and putting clear coat on it... what a pita to fix..

however there is exhaust paint, which will work fine. but regular engine paint wont.. unfortunatly the exhaust paint doesnt have as many available colors as does regular high temp.

i tried the black hi-temp (the hightest i could find) on the headers them selves (no heat sheild) and it flaked right off.

I don't know what the exhaust paint is rated at but they have 1200 degree that might work.
