Just curious if anyone knows how this is done. Anyone know which where the wires are located? I'd like a more visual indicator that I engaged and disengaged the alarm.

Looks like they hunted wires to find the signal wire from the alarm, added a relay inline and tapped into the park lamp wires from the switched power off of the relay.

You could wait for someone to respond to your post or you could just test the wires like Ronin said. If your map lights flash when you arm, try to find the wire for that in the drivers a-pillar. Trace it down to the footwell and use that as your signal wire for a relay. Power it, ground it, and run your activated wire to the horn or the parking lamps, both of which can probably be found in the steering column.
