I pulled apart my first 4g63 trans today. I must say i like the was mitsu designed them to come apart. Much easier to work on these on a work bench. The one i had picked up for internals (parts) hads a small home in the bellhousing by the diff, however shifted beautifully. I pulled it apart to find a junk diff that had one missing tooth on a spider gear. you guessed it, the small magnet my friend found in the bellhousing when it was dropped was not a magnet at all.... emoji

At any rate it will due for parts since the trans that crapped out has a good diff and casing. not bad for 100.00

Hey Terry, Did you need any special tools/pullers? And did you have a book? I am going to need one for the ATX in my 93 eventually.

So now at 44 what the hell do I do?

the ATX i am willing to bet my ass you will need a puller to get the pump out and a couple compressors to disassemble the drive hubs (clutch plates). I have the book on my 4l60e that was in my 94 z28 and a friend was going to loan me all the pullers that i needed. my point is if rwd trannys need them then i am pretty sure FWD will need them also.

now to disassemble the MTX you dont need any pullers, just patience.
