i just bought a 2600 ACT clutch, ACT eXact flywheel, and am sending my transmission to john shepard sometime soon to get rebuilt. anyway with all that out of the way i was looking for good intakes. i'm really looking at the injen intake because it comes with the pipe between the MAS and turbo. but i've heard alot of good things about the K&N filter kit too. doesn't come with a pipe but RRE says it gaurantees to make 10 HP. i was just wondering what your suggestions would be. also when i get whatever intake i get would this be a good time to do the BOV dumb tube removal and is that a good mod? thanks

IMO, the Injen is way overpriced because it looks cool. Just go with the K&N kit. If you're looking for an upgrade to the snorkel pipe, try Dejon Tools or you can mod it with a piece of ABS or PVC.
<<would this be a good time to do the BOV dumb tube removal and is that a good mod?>> Absolutly. You don't actually "remove" the tube. First, pull the MAS off the pipe going to the turbo. Look down into it and you'll see how much air is blocked off by the dump tube. Score it with a screwdriver or something to mark where you'll be cutting. Then, you just break the glue away, slide the end out of the intake pipe and cut it so it's flush with the inside of the intake pipe. Done.
