My 7 bolt crankwalked so I picked up a full 92 6-bolt motor w/turbo for $200! The timing belt snapped and crushed some valves, but I was just after the bottom end. I mated the 6 bolt block to my 95 head, sold the turbo for $300 and just when I thought I was coming out on top, I went to crank it, it backfired out of the intake. I have a 92 CAS wired up the way it is supposed to be, everything looks in place. Why is it doing this?

i have heard of problems with 6bolts swaps pertaining to misfires and the 95+ ecu not being able to read teh 6bolt right. check your maf wiring. if you have an eprom ecu you may want to go ahead and invest in dsmlink
