I think we were all very impressed with Amerihost this year, but they're already quoting $150/night for the regular rooms and even more for the Godfrey Suites.

Do we still want to stick with Amerihost, or would anyone be interested in finding something much cheaper on the outskirts, say Sandusky, perhaps? For those of us in big cities, driving a half an hour to get to the track or Buschur's shop is nothing. Some of us drive more than an hour each way to and from work!

Figured now is a good time to discuss this.

i say stick with the amerihost, but that is just me. the amerihost was quoting 150/night from the get go last year as well so this is nothing new. still better than tht 230/night rate at the BW we have seen in the past. we need to hurry up on this so i can set my reservation and forget about it until i arrive.

Not as though we did a whole lot of cruising around.

Discuss. I will get more information as soon as I get some idea what you guys would like to do...

My only concern would be complaints from people who are not there for the Shootout. Not really too sure if that makes a difference or not as far as the people running hotel are concerned.

if you really want to drink, bring your own. the liquor laws in that county suck and you wont be able to get any hard booze unless you drive for 30 minutes.

as far as i know, brian isnt killing off the room reservation block that he grabbed for a select few group of regulars until the absolute last minute. if you are in the list, contact brian, if not, better call em to reserve.
