Originally posted by CopperEclipse96 Man, what a pain in the ass this is. I'm getting quotes for a couple cars, and was wondering how it works when insuring multiple cars. For example, I got a quote for an EVO... $2,000 for 6 months. Fuck that, so I get a quote for an EVO and my Eclipse, with the Eclipse as my daily driver and that's only $1,000 for 6 months. So how does this work exactly? Let's say I would happen to accidentally drive the EVO a bit more than I indicated on my insurance application... will they find out? Any help is appreciated.
I am a licensed P&C agent for State Farm. I deal with this all day long. It would help to know what company you have since they all basically have there own rules when it comes to discounts, multi-car, mileage, pleasure work/school class ratings. Your best bet is the 2nd thing you said. First of all when your under 25, they rate you at that expensive rate. What most of you dont know is that they can NOT rate you as youthful operater(Under 25) on more then one vehicle. Therefore your second vehicle(EVO) is rated as if you are OVER 25 and on top of that, it would be considered low mileage/pleasure since you eclipse is your daily driver. About them finding out about your mileage...They could, what they normally do is send out a policyholder questionaire asking mileage driven and current miles. And if you dont answer it, the underwriting department will put through a cancellation for not returning the questionaire (yes they can do that). Make sense?, there are a few more loopholes but i cant get into them on here. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Or if anyone else reading this has a question... you guys have all helped me with my car, so i will try to help anyone who needs it in this field.Chris ---------------------------------------
