To Mike's credit, he took full responsibility for the problems. Doesn't make what happenned right, just pointing out the level of acceptance. Of course, one would say words are cheap, how about some actions? Yup, fair enough.
So do we throw out, what I consider to be a great product, due to problems he was having at that time? He didn't run away with people's money and never show up like ERT did. Not to mention the cash our buddy Mr Slick grabbed and ran (Which I just missed getting caught in). Then you got your various versions of problems with CI Motorsports. And he's not trying to sell you something that can't be made like DSMGraveyard.
Mike CLAIMS that he is trying to make a product, while attempting to make it up to those he dropped the ball on. Do we say because of said problems, one would be a fool to do business with him?
Sure you could. You would be absolutely justified in taking that position.
But, that certainly doesn't help Dave get any money back or help to keep a well crafted product on the market (yeah, you're saying that Dave may not get his money back from Mike. I'm thinking that he will eventually get it back).
The problems that Mike had were tucked into the problems that he had paying the machine shop. His labor on the parts was obviously just cash to himself. So I'm thinking if you want to decide to use him, set up a deal that doesn't give money up front. That way you would be safe if he does try to grab and run.
Meh, this is honestly a little defense of Mike who seems to be a good guy (yeah, I know, so did Chris and Mr Slick, lol). But it is more a defense of his product.
I do want to add that I do not get any special deals because of any defense that I put up for him. Though I have gotten little breaks because of the car his parts were going on (again, full disclosure).
