So a few days ago I was driving and when I put on the brakes to stop the brake light on the dashboard came on like when you have the E-Brake pulled (which it wasnt) and the light went back off once I got back up to speed. It also does this when I downshift the light will come on. Dunno what it means any help would be great.

Check your brake fluid, your probably a little low. Even if it doesn't look that low add some anyway.
