i think you could get away with the 235's but you might run into rubbing problems with the fenders.. as far as performance wise im sure the 235's might be a bit too much.. unless you have good power to work with.

I would go with at least the 7 1/2. The tire would bulge out quite a bit on a 7. Checking Nitto's site said the 235 is recommended on a 7.5-9.0 with 8 as ideal. I have them on a 8" wheel and the tires sidewalls are pretty much straight up and down with the wheels edge. That is with the 17's in my sig. Most of the guys on the Max board with 18's go 235/40-18 with a 18x8.5" wheel. There are even a few with 9's. Hope that helps.

I would only go with 225's personally. Even those bulge a little bit on a 7" wide wheel...

Yeah I wouldn't go above a 225 on a 7" rim.

You can go to 235 on a 7" wheel. I have 16x7 RX-7 wheels with 225s, and you can fit a tire bigger than 225. I've seen RX7's with stock 16x7 wheels running 235 and one with 245. Best way is to try it out at a tire shop.

I had 235/40s on my 17x7 and they looked aweseome. They are fat ass 'Mustang' Tires. I had to roll my fenders which ain't bad.
