Hi,all. I wanna do a bottom end rebuild of my 420a so I can go turbo. However, I could use a hand from those of you who have done it already. I just need to know what parts to buy (manufacturers and specs), I need to know about any pitfalls, the best place to get this stuff, you know stuff like that. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Josh you A-hole..
Use the search function and look for Howell Automotive. They have assembled a bottom end kit with turbo users in mind. I would recommend ditching the provided rings (or obtain credit) and go with rings from the piston manufacture.

Haha.
I would also recommend contacting Exile Racing up in the Chicago Area. I don't know so much about buying engine components from Howell and I'm sure they're a quality operation, but I can tell you from experience that the guys at ERT will take a good amount of time to talk with you on the phone about what your goals are before they recommend anything from their catalogue. These two are the major players in our community as far as I'm concerned.
You just need to give serious thought to what you want your car to do when you're done. Be realistic about how you drive the car the most and then do some research here on what works and what doesn't. You'll get the hang of it.

howell is good for selling kits for a good price, but they take FOREVER to send it. If you can get all the same parts from someone else and they can get it to you in less than 2 months then get it from someone else. Howell just takes too long.
