I have been looking for a 420a to rebuild, and I found a 95 avenger DOHC longblock for $100 (don't know if runs but turns over). Will I have any problems with it being a 95? Or, I have found a 96 SOHC Neon complete motor(runs) for $175. Which would be my best bet? Is this decent prices? Or, I might can get one cheaper at my friends junk yard. He was out of town, today.
If you dont go for the neon motor which is a great price mind you, send an email to Degree on this board. He has a bad crank/rod and needs a motor for as cheap as poss. He is hurting for cash right now.

If you buy the '95, you will have to worry about getting the right main bearings. Something about the notches for the bearings being offset. Some people buy two sets of main bearings to compensate.

if you search back in the board a little bit, they have the part numbers and shit for the '95 year blocks. and yes the main bearings are notched differently on the block then the '96+
