well what do you want?? fuel control, spark/timing advance, higher rev limiter,etc..
The afx unit can easily be wired up to work just fine on your year if your manual tranny, just some splicing to get the correct wires. basically just splice it till all the same colored wires go to the right spots.

or you can get the safc to control fuel a little bit, but if your non-turbo its really not worth it, unless your turbo or spraying then it has its advantages.

Our get a megasquirt,ems,haltec,dfi,tec3,etc..
there are tons of options out there for engine control you just need to decide what you want.

well what about us with automatic tranny's? I kno u cant use the af/x one but can u use another system to raise the revlimiter cuz its set at 6800 (why lord? lol)

Thanks

Regardless of any other mods, if you are running stock cams, you shouldn't be running the RPM's much past 6600-6800 anyways. Stock cams are horribly restrictive and absolutely kill the torque curve at those RPM's and higher.

However, with the right camshaft and the proper valvetrain upgrades, the sky is the limit.

Well i am planning on dropping in a Zex 50 shot in about 2 weeks. would i be better off with the AF/X computer and splicing, or should i buy the S-afc? cause the AF/X advances timing right? and thats not good for nitrous applications.
thanks

P.S. oh yeah is the S-AFC good to have with nitrous? does it help alot?
thanks

for a 50-75 shot you can just run with the stock PCM and thats it.
for 100 shot and up I would just recommend atleast the fuel pump rewire mod and maybe a warlbro with the safc.

and I thought the zex kit doesnt really work well on these cars.

and for the auto guys your out of luck for now. well you could always switch to the neon 3 speed non-computer controlled auto.
someone will eventually figure it out though I know there is some ECU code cracking in the works as we speak.

yea i hope they r makin a ecu for us haha lol,

umm if ure going to run a 50 wet IMP get one range colder spark plugs, if 75 then get the plugs, a walbro fuel pump n i would pick up an afc, i wouldnt go over 75 w/ stock internals.

Theres a guy on ebay thats reflashing 420a ecu's 95 to 99. Ajna was curious about it and wanted the email, so I called the guy and he said that anyone here that has a stock car , he'd be willing to do the reflash for free , provided you post the before and after dyno numbers and graphs here on the board. He said he could do auto's too if the demand was there.

Or do a search in the pits section. The thread isnt too old. Ajna made the post. I spoke to the guy for a good half n hour on the phone and posted his email and phone # in one of my replies in the original thread. He also mentioned in the future he'd work on a chip for nt guys with turbo.

I emailed the guy from ebay a couple times and he says he is from Oregon. I am very tempted to have him reprogram my computer. He has an excellent Ebay rating. I also noticed he reprograms Neon ECUs. Maybe someone on a Neon forum knows anything.
