#66968, "Motor swap question"

Ok im sure this question has been asked a million times (sorry) but, if i had a GS-T that was any of 95-99 with the 4g63t would a JDM 4g63 cyclone motor fit into the car if not why and if so what entails. If that motor does not fit then where would a good place be to get a JDM 4g63t motor and transmission?
thanks

any 4g63 block will drop right in a gst. if you are getting the cyclone 4g63 from an evo, make sure you get the earlier model engines because you can use the head from the evo. (evo6-8 have the intake manifold pointing to the left side of the car rather than right like eclipses) all the mounts bolt right up.

I thought the only difference in teh cyclone and the regular 4g63 was the head and intake manifold/tb?

dont waste ur money on a "JDM swap". get a 1G head, intake mani, and TB. i'd try to get the head from a 1G 5speed as their cams are more aggressive than the auto cams. With all the money you are saving, port the head and intake and strap on a 14B and you're all set for under $500 if you make this a DIY project.

Mitsubishigraveyard.com will find you an 87' Galant 6 bolt block (actually, a complete engine-but the heads useless) for $350, if you ever thinking of swapping the block as well.

oh its 2.4L too
