got motor back from shop and found this. what can i (or the machine shop)do about it?

Yeah, I would make them fix it. That pin helps align the head to the block.

man those pins are a bitch and a half. i had to bore mine out with a drill bit, one little bit at a time till the stupid dowel pin finally spun out. it seemed like it was fused in there...

anyway, they are like a dollar or so from bob kise, press fit. i had to mallet mine in slightly. make sure you tap them in straight though, see etx's post emoji
