It's almost like tapping/rattling but it only does it around 3k RPM tp about 5K RPM. It doesn't do it if I just rev the motor, only hen I am actually driving. I definitly think it is coming from under the valve cover and I going to pull it soon to check. Any ideas as to what it might be emoji

yeah i've got some noise too, i'm thinking head also because if it was bottom end, i would have had my motor puke all over the road by now. mine starts only under load, and doesn't start until around 2500-3000 rpm's all the way up.

but only when giving it gas (or turning sharply).

Jersey, is your prob similar to mine? like a light tapping/rapping sound?

I think we have the same exact problem. Where are all the engine "gurus" when you need them. What are your plans to find out what the problem is??? It is REALLY annoying and it is pretty fucking loud! emoji

Yeah, it's definitley coming from the head and I doubt it's the Cam bearings.

is your head all factory? if so how many miles are on it? mine is all stock and i just turned 165xxx the other day... so if you are in the same boat, maybe something isn't working correctly?

changed VC gasket a couple of months ago, and everything "looked" ok, but then again i don't know what i'm looking for!

OMG. i have that cricket noise! sounds like a mild grinding. definately the crickets. whats that mean for me? i thought it was comming from my injectors. but its way too fast to be injectors...almost like its comming from the pcv.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

I think the sound you guys are talking about is the lifters. I replaced my lifters/rockers with the updated PT style ones and no more noises.
