Today I checked my tires and my filter was gone off my Iceman CAI. I dont know if somebody stole it or it fell off, because it was just there last weekend... So after searching every auto parts store in town for the replacement K&N I just settled with buying a short ram.... My car lost its pull towards the upper RPM's.... Im getting rid of that POS once I find a replacement filter for the Iceman.... IMO short rams suck!!!

shouldnt there be a filter on the end of the short ram? shouldnt that filter go on your ice man? shouldnt a dohc 4 cylinder gain power in the upper rpm's? it shouldnt make a big difference. go down the track with a cai and a short ram and you probably wont notice a difference in times

The short ram is also 3" I might be able to leave the upper tube from the Iceman and use the new short ram for the bottom piece.... totally cobbled up.....man I hate that shit Ive had that Iceman for over 4 years and never had any problems other than cleaning the filter, if you consider that a problem.... It was sweet because the filter fit in front of the tire right behind the vent in my FE.... So if somebody wanted it they couldve snagged it pretty easy...

Actually, if you've had both, you can tell a huge difference. The AEM cold air intake has higher gains in upper rpm's compared to a short-ram intake. That's the reason most people get cold air intakes. With a short ram, I noticed more power off the line (probably better response due to shorter piping), but the AEM pull a lot harder from 3500 rpms and up.
