3 months ago i had this problem, except not only wasi driving in the rain, i went thru a monstrous puddle due to the lack of vision I had, and Im talking this thing was almost at my waist. It got into my engine and bent a rod, it made a VERY loud clanking noise. I changed my oil, took the spark plugs out and shot as much water was i could out cranking it, changed the spark plugs and wires, but the damage was already done and in the process of doing that I fried my battery and my starter so I had to replace those as well. I ended up takin the motor out, strippin it apart, putting in a new piston/rod all new rings, new bearings, new headgasket, new valve cover gasker, and she runs like a champ now. I wish the best of luck, but id be quick to change that oil and spark plugs, you just might have gotten lucky! -Ryan a.k.a.
