It is definitely louder than stock, I can turn heads with it, but it doesnt get louder until 3500rpms, it is still too quite in my opinion.

I would say it is a LOT louder, but it is a deeper sound and is noticeably louder.

it's not that much louder, it will sound good without drawing too much attention unlike a honda 3 inch exhaust

Ya its just slightly louder and deeper, but nothing close to an aftermarket muffler. You shouldn't have any probs with cops with a gs-t muffler (in areas where they ticket you for a loud exhaust)

Yes I did that the 4 weekends in a row 500 mile trips with an a/m exhaust. Its one of the best sounding ever, nice and deep, but it really vibrated around 3400-3400.

I do alot of highway driving and it is very quiet at highway speeds. It is only loud at those rpm's while accelerating, and when you decelerate (sp?). I had my car drive my car up and down the street in front of our house and it sounded really good. It was a deep tone and once he when higher in the rev range, my car started to make a whistling sound. When he let off the gas and let the car slow itself it even gurgled a little. I got goose bumps, thats why I want an cat back because if that was louder I think I would never want to leave my car.

Yes Im talking aftermarket.

Dude stop worrying about how loud it is. Plain and simple its not much loud at all. Seriously. You will barely notice much of a difference. Who cares about a vibrate when you are driving anyway you just get used to it. Its not like you cant have a conversation is just like how your tires sound but a little louder.

The GST isn't really louder, just a more distinct exhaust note, growly if you will. An aftermarket is louder but not really loud enough to pose a problem on the highway.

LAST EDITED ON 31-Oct-01 AT 01:05 PM (PST)

The GST muff definately sounds better, not really loud at all. Sounds sweet when ya run through the gears though, plus you a get nice little power increase.

Yeah like everybody said it's a little louder, but it's just a better deeper tone. I honestly think I hear more intake sound from my CAi than I do exhaust in the car. Highway trips are no problem, unlike my 2.5" Dynomax exhaust on my Neon, God i need to add a resonator to that.

Yo Michael_97RS: How do you think the GS-t muff would be with a say 2.25" or 2.50" piping? What would be better in terms of diameter in the piping, especially when you raise compression a point or two?

Mod List:
-NGK BKR5E-11 Plugs
-Magnecore 8.5 Wires
-AEM CAI(thanx to endless73)
-GS-T Muffler
-Upper Front Strut Bar
-Custom Short Shifter!

I think using the GS-T muffler owuld defeat the puupose of switching to 2.5" piping. Because before you enter the muffler you would have to reduce the piping size back down to 2". If you are going to go with 2.5" piping find a muffler that has a 2.5" inlet.
