Have you taken apart anything on your motor recently? You could have a decent sized vaccum leak if you didnt seal something correctly..or it could just be your cai:thumbsup

This may sound stupid.... but do you run your A/C consistently? it can make a "hissing" noise when you start/turn off you car too. jus ta shot in the dark. 1997 Silver RS Wiseco 8.8:1 Pistons(back to low compression!) well i found the rubber coupling between the tb and the cai loose. But it still makes the noise a little. And yes i do run my a/c more tan usual because i live in miami.

Its prob. your CAI Where is the filter under the hood or in the fenderwell? Mine Does it b/c you can here it good because it is right in front of the tire. And b/c it is 3" all the way. If it runs ok leave it alone.

I have a hiss with my car due to the CAI but it's only noticeable at idle... Most likely that's the sound you're hearing. Maybe put on the stock airbox to see if the hissing goes away or not.
