I just recently bought a new safc. Iv been reading some write ups on how to install and tune them. My question is can I tun the car with my data logger from obd-2.com, or should I wait and get the gauges? I mean i will be getting them soon anyways, but I really want to install this thing while i got vacation time.

well you would need the gauges, hmm the egt is a must. on the ob2 it shows a/f if you wanna look.. but tuning is not a one day street thing, it takes time.

well I was planning on maybe leving the afc at a "safe" setting close to stock, before actualy tuning to specific variables. So you would recomend at last getting the EGT then instill the afc? Or could I just intstall it with a "safe setting", then when I do get the EGT I could set the variables?

if you really want to install the afc go ahead. just dont start 'tuning' till you get the egt put in, and a/f. and learn how the fuel and timing works with the afc.

do it right and go to a dyno with a wideband o2 and tune with that, its more reliable than a/f fuel and EGT the wideband allows you to tune throught the whole RPM range while a/f guage is only for WOT and EGT's are alot trickier to tune with.

true, its the smart thing to do, i will do this once im built hehe.. but for people who dont want to spend alot of money and know how to tune this is the next best thing.
