#46839, "What all did you DECIDE to change when doing timing belt?"
I know what all the options are out there to get changed when doing the timing belt, but I was just wondering what all you guys DECIDED to change? If you could just list them down, I just want to see what was mostly changed out of all of these: 1) Tensioner 2) Water Pump 3) Idler Pulley 4) Tensioner Pulley 5) Cam Seals TIA! 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 10th Anniversary OZ Edition Check Out My Site For Pix http://mywebpages.comcast.net/EclipseRaceR/MyEclipse/VIS%20CF%20Hood/

And from searching the archives, it seems that the waterpump gets changed out the most, and the cam seals being the least changed, but still want to get an update from you guys. 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS 10th Anniversary OZ Edition Check Out My Site For Pix http://mywebpages.comcast.net/EclipseRaceR/MyEclipse/VIS%20CF%20Hood/

Question: What gets done when you go for a 60,000 service? I know some places RECOMMEND the timing belt and most people assume that's the main work of the service but they get you to beleive that and isn't always right. Just to make the $600-800 job a $800-1200 job..

I am planning to do a timing belt again next week. I did it a few months ago, and replaced my cam seals thinking that was my oil leak on the timing belt, but damned if i didnt get that lucky, seems its the front main i suppose, fun fun... And my rear main is leaking too i think cause my new cm stg 4 has been shuttering real bad at times and then grabbing back down like it was maby burning oil off the disk maby and catching back again...
I plan to replace the t-belt again(cause oil and belts dont mix), the tensioner, and the front main seal, and the washer that seals the oil pressure relief spring on the oil pump. Don't know about the water pump, its got 42K miles on it, hate to get in there again soon.
And the rear main seal all i gotta say is fxck, i really dont feel like dropping that tranny out of there an umpteenth time

I just got my car back from the shop last Wed. They charged me $900 to change out my timing belt, cam seals, water pump, tensioner, and tensioner pulley. I have 120K on my car now and this is the second timing belt I've had changed.
