so i have a 96 esi, and i removed my egr and got a check engine light. plugged in the solenoid and its gone. does that mean im OBD-I?

if so, what does that mean to other things?

esi with 50k great shape for sale, afx udp, stock otherwise.

i thought that 96 and up you coudn't eliminate the egr CEL? it may come back but it disapeared when i pluged in the solenoid....

im sure if you drive around some youll get the CEL back. the only way to get rid of it is to solder in a resistor...

i got a 98 and i only got an egr code 2 in the last year. it was only when i was driving my car really hard around town for 3 or 4 hrs

your check engine light went off because you FIXED the problem, you plugged the solenoid back in.

Yes that was just the selonid not plugged in code, it's only a matter of time before you get the no flow code.

You cant.. without making an electronic device that will lower output voltage of the o2 sensor to show a lean condition when the EGR system is activated

So basically you cant fix the flow code. You just have to deal with it if youve done the EGR block off

I wired in a device, basically resistors, in place of my EGR soleniod and have yet to have any problems at all, i had codes but when i wired them in they went away. I also have no problems with any flow codes. Resistors work wonders.

thats exatly what im saying. when i get the flow code, i will figure out what to wire where and how and all that. till then i don't wanna think about it. i have finals to take instead

when i took out my catalytic converter i got a EGR code but im just assuming it is from the cat.
