A resonator is kind of like a muffler that you place in the mid section of your exhaust (generally right after the cat) to remove any raspiness from the tone of the exhuast. It also quites it down quite a bit. I have a 27" long one on my car and it sounds a hundred percent better with it on there. No loss in performance either do to the straight through design. Hope this helps.

I agree with the above.

I bought a Cherry bomb. Same straight through design, with quieting effect. They're very cheap. Typically they cost in the $20-$40 range.

I also got a 27" glass pack. I got it from Advanced Auto Parts for like 24 bucks.

How exactly does the resonator attach? Is it something that needs to be custom welded, or do 'bolt on' ones exist?
