Posted by 1FastEclipse, Feb-06-03 11:31 AM A resonator is kind of like a muffler that you place in the mid section of your exhaust (generally right after the cat) to remove any raspiness from the tone of the exhuast. It also quites it down quite a bit. I have a 27" long one on my car and it sounds a hundred percent better with it on there. No loss in performance either do to the straight through design.
