#40092, "3.5l turbo swap?"

I would never swap, not just fo rmoney but also because the project is to big for me. but this question was killing me, because I could never figure out why you guys have never mentioned the chrysler 3.5l turbo engine when you talk about swaps. Would it not fit or something? It seems like it would.....

I got banned for being a constant tard.

>You mean 2.5L ?

that's what i'm guessing he means.. the old 2.5L I4 turbo they put in the K-cars and caravans, infact the fastest FWD chrysler is powered by that 2.5L turbo and there are a couple really fast FWD mini vans powered by that motor.

also someone had some info a while back about the 420a being partely derived from that motor.. perhaps it could be close enough to be a not too terribly difficult swap.

It's similar and different. Main difference is 8 valves vs. 16 valves.

Similarities are that the 2.2 and 2.5 shared the same bore only the 2.5 had a longer stroke and balance shafts, just like the 2.0 and 2.4 do. . .The bore is the same between all 4 engines, 3.44 in.

Check out www.allpar.com and you can read about the 2 engines all day long.

the eagle vision has a turbo? I don't think so (my information could be wrong) but just because it says TSi doesn't mean it's a Turbo... definatly a V6 though..

yep.. it's a NA 3.5L in the TSi vision.. the lower vision had a 3.3L V6. neither are turbo...

Ooooh ok. I thought Tsi meant the same as with the Talon. Well, for information purposes, would it fit?

eclipse's have big engines bays.. it'd probably fit.. but it probably wouldn't be any easier then swapping any V6 into the car.

Is the 3.5L the Mitsubishi 6G7X that was used in the Mitsubishi Montero?

I guess it would..
But if you think about it.. what go fast mods are there for any cars?
You could get an air filter, exhaust, headers for ANY car..

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

All real "Import Tunerz" have a 7 second car or 2...

Some of the great Toonahz have a 6 second car, but 5 second cars are rare.

-=B-= <=== has a 3 second Ferarri
3 second Ferarri <===== appeared in a dream after doing the 5 speed swap from hell, and is probably based on my 1/18th scale Ferarri model

The 3.3l, and 3.5l engines in the LH cars are chrysler derived motors. They share no parts with the Mitsu 6g's.One swap that might acutaully be doable is the 3.0l v6 out of the 95-99 Avengers. They have the same engine bay as us so it would probably be farely straightforward.

Green 95 GS 5-speed
Engine--PCP cold air intake,Greddy header,Accel 8mm wires,OBX custom exhuast.

Suspension/Brakes--Sprint 2' springs, KYB Gr2's, EBC Red Stuff pads,17" Konig Traffiks (silver), 215/45/17 Yokohama AVS ES100's, 15 dollar camber kit.

Good.. you should say what you want.. I agree with you.. But people try to say when someone is wrong. Hondas have been doing swaps all the time. They swap Prelude motors in CRXs.. where you have a big motor, and not alot of space. Nothing is bolt on.. but they still do the swap. They take out things like AC or PS.. but which true performance enthusiast really wants that emoji .. But if they do want it.. they make custom brackets (like when you do the 2.4L swap). I don't know why we (DSMers) are scared to do any swaps, while Hondas are doing them left and right, and they've been doing it for 6-7+ years.. as far as I know of.

Swapping engines is not something new. Even Domestic car people do it, thats kinda like where we got it from. We (DSMers) probably don't do it, because our motor is pretty good how it is, and it is proven to get "alot" of power. But how can you say it is "alot"? We are striving to get what alot of non-modified motors are getting..

If you want to do the swap, you should, if it is viable. I don't know why we are sooo scared about anything about swaps. I mean, the 2.4L swap is ALOT of work, from what I've heard, custom mounts, custom oil pans, custom brackets, changing the electronics, and much more... This is "just" (kinda) like swapping in any other motor.

The 2.0L -> 2.4L "swap" isn't as easy, as what the 2.5L->3.0L V6 ASOGers do. But we still do it.. The Prelude motor swap in a Civic is like trying to swap a V8 into a Ford Festiva/Aspire emoji , but they still do it.. why? Because they can.

Seriously people, I am not trying to get into an argument about what is better, Hondas, DSMs, Subarus, Nissans, whatever.. all of them are good, some have better points than others, some have worse.
