absolutly not. it should go for 1000 or less. although, it all depends on your situation. if you REALLY need an engine, the convenience might outweigh the price.

I was looking at getting to since it has a turbo already just to strip it and totaly rebuild it with all the modes. So when it is complete just slap it in. Also I will have a back up engine.

"just slap it in"

Unfortunetely it doesn't work that way. Along with the motor you need the wiring, ecu, tranny, drivetrain..... and 2500 just for the motor is very expensive.

$2500 for a 4g63 is NOT expensive....to get a rebuilt they run around $3500-4,000 to get a new crate motor from mitsu they run $6,000...

I think $2500.00 for a motor with no warranty is kind of poo. 3-5k for a rebuilt yah, but it probably has a warranty. I wouldnt pay $2500.00 for a motor w/ no warranty or no info of how its been treated. As far as putting in the GS, good luck! Not even close to the same car. Hell, when you drive the two, they dont even feel the same. They look the same, but totally different cars(GS-T/GSX vs. GS/RS). Motors dont just swap.

The swap very easily..NO.. 420a (chrysler) to a 4g63t ( Mitsu) that is mounted the other way (intake i mean)... Not only would u have to have all the "wiring tranny and motor mount, you would have to move everything, even the damn battery couldnt stay where its at. Engine is on the other side of the engine bay, intake is on the wrong side etc.. I cant believe you just said that, and I will not flame, but im damn sure people will shortly as this topic has been discussed over and over, and over.... then it was discussed a little more, and no you cant do it unless you have 5k to blow just on the installation of the motor, not including the motor, tranny, ecu itself.

Oh ok so it comes with all that. What about power steering, air conditioning... the list goes on and on. It is a bad Idea IMO and if someone is going to do it then they should give me some money too because they sure like to waste it. Where can you get all that stuff wiring ecu tranny and all for just $1700? Only reason I ask is because when you buy a motor you get just that a motor. You don't usually get wiring harnesses and ecu's with them, let alone a tranny.

Matt,

I think you went a little overboard there. Talking like that isn't going to make me think more of you, you just came off as arrogant and spoiled. You pay your way through medical school and get all A's, great, we need more good doctors. But that cussing tangent was a little more than I needed to hear, and I am in no way a bitch or anything else. If you came to my school (Tulane) you would hate the rich bastards running around in M3, Maserati, M5, and the occasional DB7 too. And I have been a little frustrated listening to those assholes talk so when I see someone say they get a BMW or 350Z that they didn't do anything to get, it really rubs me the wrong way. You could have explained that you work hard and its medical school instead of being a prick about it. I respect hard work because engineers at this school have it tougher than anybody and thats what I'm doing.

As far as this thread goes, I believe one dude in Chicago got a 4G63 into an NA and it promptly caught on fire. It's foolish to do something that involved, much easier to sell the car and buy what it came with. I wanted a 5.0L Ford engined car, but I didn't try and cram it in my Eclipse. Sold the Eclipse and I'm working my ass off to pay for this Cobra kit that has the 5.0 I wanted. But swapping a Mitsu motor into a 2gnt is the same as trying to swap a 5.0 into say a 300ZX. STUPID. Build what you got. Or buy the right car.
