it's a nice engine but do you really want 5 reverse gears and 1 forward gear?

haha if you have the money and I mean MONEY get a F20 S2000 engine it spins the right way and makes gobs of power at higher RPM.

if you are even gunna spend any money on an engine get a h22 200 hp form a NA enigne. but of course it would not be wurth the money. 2400 for motor/tranny/ecu and you still need some qustom axles and shiet. and motor mounts, etc. its rerally not wurth it. jes go turbo for that money and youl have same hp. much easier.

OK. let me break it down. BOOST RESPONDS GREAT TO MODS! 4G63 will swap in easier. BUT hell, for the $$$, get a turbo kit and rebuild on low comp. THEN, YOU WILL DEFEAT THE AVERAGE TYPE R. AND YES, CAPS ARE NECESSARY!

DSM motor in a honda works. Honda motor in a DSM isn't right. emoji I saw a pic somewhere of a crx with a 4G63.
Also saw a crx with an NSX engine mounted to a roll bar, etc in the back. Kinda kewl. It was on hi-rev tuners. emoji

The B18C5 is a great motor, for a HONDA. The F20C is an even better motor, but way out of the reach financially for most. The B20-VTEC is the cheap way to destroy the B18C5 for cheap.

However, you have a DSM, and not a Honda, so don't waste your time.

If you want a Honda motor, buy a Honda (1G CRX for cheap!)

Just think of it as half of an Eclipse with more power emoji

Besides Honda engines will have like 120 hp but only 80 trq. (not exact but just to give you an idea) If we have 140 hp or trq is damn close to that number too. Hondas are very weird. That's why you can almost always jump a honda, so if they beat you it will be in the long run, not off the line.

OK...I love my eclipse, always will.... but I'm smart enough to say that the VTech engine is better (stock wise). but if you want one buy a honda...dont put it in a DSM.

I love DSM and i love some hondas but i'll never thought of mixxing the two it's really not worth it, as i'm sure u know. I have seen stranger things, hell my dad and i are putting an 4AGE (toyota) in his 73 MG midget. but if you do a swap it's usally good idea to step up.. not sideewaise or backwards. by the way the type-r is rated @ 197 hp well the jdm ones are. and the motor is usally over 5,000 with tranny and ecu, if u can find it. not worth it,. my imo. the end defeats the means.

true honda makes some amazing engines but they would not be beneficial to us. And it's VTEC, VTECH makes those tail light covers.

How can anyone say that Honda's engines are better? They are reliable, sure. But in terms of performance they suck.

The S2000’s marvelous engine makes 240hp @8300 rpm but only 153ft-lbs @7500 rpm. Meanwhile our engine makes 140hp @6000 rpm and 130ft-lbs @4800 rpm. Torque is what gets you moving. The torque is so damn high in the rpm range that you can’t use it in everyday driving. If your everyday driving consist of dropping the clutch at redline and roasting your tires at every stop light then get a Honda, but in my daily commute my car rarely brakes 3500 rpm.
