Ok, I ordered 8.5mm Magnecor wires from Overboost.com a while back and my buddy just pointed out to me tonight that they say 2.5mm right on them - I never noticed. The box says 8.5mm ... what's the deal?? Anybody else's say that or did I get ripped?

Think about how small 2.5mm is...unless your wires look as small as speaker wire I'm sure you didn't get ripped off. I'm not sure why they say that on the wires, but I wouldn't worry about it.

nah I think 2.5mm is the diameter of the wire don't know what 8.5mm means though... They have 10mm ones on ebay

although ive never seen wires with 2.5mm written on them, it probably means the size of the actual wires that run through underneath the silicon and electrical sheathing... Just a guess.

rutiglie - It took forever to get my wires from Overboost. Like 3 weeks, it wasn't until I started getting nasty that they showed up. It will be a long time before I order from them again. Hopefully you have a better experience.

Everyone else - my buddy that noticed it is a machanic and he says he installs 8.5's all the time and their thicker (probably not Magnecors though). I guess I'll trust them for now ... until the next DSM meet and I can compare with someone else's. I'll let you know.

2.5mm conductor and 6mm of insulation (for the 8.5mm wires) or 7.5mm of insulation (for the 10mm wires)

Yeah I called them and told them to cancel my order cuz I need them by Friday, they got on the phone, called the distributor and are shipping them next day air to arrive Friday. So they were punks, but I got on their ass and they got to it... Not ordering from them again... They should post the item is on backorder on their website

if you ever need anything quickly summit racing is the place to go. I ordered my wires on fri and got them today!
