#30240, "Mach V prices?"

At Mach V Motorsports I saw a complete engine rebuild kit for $549 for the 2gnt Eclipse/Talon. Is the reason it is so much cheaper than the Howell kit because it doesn't come with forged internals and it will just make it a stock 420A again?

MACHV: Does not include cams or timing belt tensioner.$549. Complete Engine, 95-99 2.0 non-turbo $1,999.00. w/12k warranty.

The Howell at $999 does comes with the cams which sep. are $399. And there block is $1,899.00. No warranty.

I'd go with Howell only cause they seem to know what they are doing with us 420A guys rather than MachV which knows more about 4G63's.

The Howell at 999 is just the top end kit. Does not include bottom end at all. the bottom end kit is another $1K+, so a complete engine rebuild (top and bottom) would be almost $2K. The howell block is only the short block, whereas the machv says complete engine. Fairly substantial difference there as well. But, as far as your question of pistons/rods being factory or aftermarket, I have no idea.

I just checked the Mach V website and they are using remanufactured stock parts. So the answer to your question is yes the parts would be just like going with stock parts.
