>I’ve stayed out of this for awhile. I don’t have anything >against Shaun because I don’t know him. I do have an >opinion about NER though and just because I am not a >“customer” that doesn’t mean I can't voice that opinion. >The same goes for anyone else who wants to speak their mind. > This is a public discussion board and there are going to be >issues where people don’t see eye to eye.
you said it yourself... you are not a customer.. if you were a customer and had taken the time to call shaun, the you would be FULLY informed. b/c you are not a customer, or have not had the intention of being one, you do not know what is going on... the customers do, its just as simple as that. sure, people can have (and voice) their opinions.. fine be me, but when they are talking about stuff they have no clue about, then thats what bothers me... they do not know if the kit is complete, they do not know about customer service, they do not know if the kits have been shipped... if they were a customer, or called NER to figure these things out, then their "opinions" would be a little different.
>With that out of the way. I feel there is a lot to be said >here about NER and this kit. The first issue of mine is the >manifold. I haven’t seen the pictures of the turbo on it. >Just by looking at the manifold in the picture it doesn’t >look like it would fit in our engine bay w/ a turbo on it. >If the manifold in question in fact doesn’t fit or isn’t up >to par why would you list it as part of the kit and start >taking money for it? This would lead me to believe that the >kit isn’t or hasn’t been through all the testing yet. If >the kit has problems in it or hasn’t’ been tested why would >you risk your companies reputation on it? As a company your >fucked if you put out a product w/o properly testing. You >will end up having a lot of angry customers on your hands >and the word would spread VERY quickly about the bad >product.
once again, you are not a customer.. therefore you have not gotten the updates that we have gotten. you do not know the plans that he has for the kits... then you would know that the manifold fits fine, but the decision was to go with the steel manifolds for the best fitment and b/c the material is easier to come by (so that he could get the kits out faster). i have had the manifold and turbo bolted up on my car and the fitment was fine... there are pictures for those in the groupbuy, and are available to request. but again, how would you know that unless you were a customer?
>My second issue is about the layaway program they offer. To >my best knowledge it is illegal to take money on layaway w/o >having that product IN STOCK and ready for the customer as >soon as they fulfill their finical obligation. I wouldn’t >give money to anyone unless I knew they had a kit on a self >collecting dust until I gave them the amount I owed.
what can i say about this? not much.. the kits are not fully stocked, but he has his reasons, and the customers know what they are.. once the order is finished the parts will get to NER quickly and shipped out asap... how much more different is this than paying HRC or Star fully for a kit and then waiting around for a month to get it? touchy subject, but for those interested... a call can do a great deal.
>My third issue is about all the “new guys” saying bad things >about NER. I am not new and I have posted in topics about >NER before, long before. NER use to be called Discount auto >something or other then they changed it to NER. There have >been at least three times the company has shut down their >web site and diapered. A few months go by and they have a >new face on the net and are up and running for business >again. People in the past have had problems w/ NER and the >honesty of the owner. People have been charged for products >right after they ordered and didn’t see the part until many >weeks later. This too is illegal, you can not charge a >customers credit card until you ship the product.
i do not know of such situations, and i will not make it my business... i do know that he shut his site down for a long time to get it running and programmed correctly.. to make his site more efficient.. in those down times, i know that his business was not down..
>People who have their opinions about NER have them for a >reason. Either they had a bad experience w/ the company or >someone they knew did. I don’t think people just jump on a >bandwagon just to it, there is “in most cases” a reason.
that is the problem.. you are wrong.. most people that are forming these negative opinions are people that ARE NOT customers.. jumping on the band wagon? i dont know... but the customers of the group buy are perfectly happy with the way things have been so far... i have yet to see that anyone in the groupbuy get mad.. funny that the people outside the groupbuy that are not customers are though.
>The biggest problem I have is the turbo kit. It just >doesn’t add up to me. But luckily for me I am not on of >those poor souls who has to wait and wonder if I will ever >get my turbo kit or have a problem w/ it and have to wait >forever and a day to get help or a new part.
yea, lucky for you... pffft, sure guy. ask the people of the groupbuy if they are sweating about losing their money. just because the kits are not out as fast as expected, does not mean that they are not coming at all.. he has been getting dicked around by all sorts of vendors, which push back the time it takes to get the kit completed. the customer support is there.. shaun is there everyday, all day.. people at NER are there everyday, all day... do you have a clue as to what you speak of?
>Just by putting the kit on the market and not having any >pictures or real life people w/ an actual working kit is bad >face. Not to mention changing the parts in the kit in the >middle of everything and making excuses.
he has made it openly clear that if people wanted out, they could have out... the customers knew this, as updates came, the option was out there... full money back.. again, the customers know, but you are not informed. did you know that?
>I want to see a picture of the kit w/ that manifold on a car >w/ everything hooked up and running. Until then my opinion >will stay the same and I will voice it whenever I what, >because I can. But in all of this you must realize that >this is my opinion if you don’t like it just skip over it.
fine by me, but when you voice your opinion.. you better know the facts. and you dont. the pictures will come out, and when they do, i hope it will make everyone happy.
>I believe in proper business skills, proper customer service >and relations. NER hasn’t been exercising those and that is >why people have the opinions they do.
AGAIN.. how would you know? are you a customer? have you had the chance to experience NERs customer service? NO... how can you speak of what you do not know?
