I'm having problems taking the crank pulley out. I have the 5 ton 3 jaw puller, but I don't have that special extension tool that you use to push the jaw off of. What did you guys use to take this damn crank pulley out?

Yeah, I used a 100mm version of the stock 12mm x 1.75 that I got from a local hardware store. They were in a John Deere lableled baggie(had to buy a set of 2 bolts). Just make sure that when you are cranking it off, that the bolt head is never too far away from the actual pulley. I did it in 1/2 inch increments.

ummm....yeah...I used a little socket and used that to support the stock bolt while I cranked at it and now...you guessed it, the socket is stuck in there. I got the pulley out, but the socket is stuck in there. Any suggestions?

Oh man. This happened to someone before. I can't remember how he finally got it out. Anyone remember that? I thought it had something to do with drilling or tapping. Worst case - you can always replace the crankshaft.
Just a quick question. Who told you that the best way to get the pulley off would be to press a socket into your crankshaft?

It's beyond that now man. He's already pressed a socket into his crank. I'm not going to harp on this ANY MORE past this posting...but he should have listened to the advice on this board in the first place AND he didn't(unless it was a PM).
